Ministries and What to Expect
The ministries of Good News Baptist Church are purposeful with the goal to “Develop Faithful and Fruitful Followers of Jesus Christ.”
Sunday School meets from 9:30 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. It’s a great time for learning, asking questions, interaction around God’s Word, building relationships, and sharing our prayer requests. We have classes for every member of the family. The children’s classes include a song time and age-appropriate instruction. We primarily use Regular Baptist Press and Answers in Genesis materials.
Join us at 10:30 a.m. for our Worship Service. You will find individuals wearing every day attire and others in dresses and jackets. As you come in, you will receive a bulletin that includes the order of service and song selections. Also included is a sermon outline you may use, if you like, to take notes during the message. In the auditorium we have hymnals positioned in the racks under the cushioned chairs in front of you. We sing hymns and sacred songs that reverence our great God. The message will be a verse-by-verse study of God’s Word. We encourage families to worship together. If you would like, a staffed Nursery is provided for children ages three and under. Children’s Church is available for children ages 4-5th grade after the song service.
Sunday Evening Service
Meeting from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., our evening service is a time for singing favorite hymns, praying together, and studying a half-hour lesson from God’s Word. Lesson topics include studying Books of the Bible, special topics, and instructional video series. A nursery is available as needed. Our lessons are designed to engage children and youth as well as adults.
Wednesday Night Adult Bible Study and Prayer Meeting
This is a favorite service of our church family. From 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., we divide into Men’s and Women’s study groups at the church building for an engaging, in-depth Bible study. Pastor leads the Men’s Study and his wife, or one of our capable ladies, teaches the Women’s Bible study. During our study time together, we address your questions about the topics at hand and how God’s truth applies to our daily lives. Time is also given for sharing prayer requests and praises and praying over them.
Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., our teens enjoy an interactive Bible study and lesson time. The last fifteen minutes of the evening they spend playing games together.
Kids 4 Truth Bible Club
Also held from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday nights is our Kids 4 Truth Bible Club. K4T is a program containing 120 questions and answers about 12 foundational Bible truths. The goal is to help children, ages 4 years old through 6th grade, become God-focused believers through learning essential Christian Truth. Our kids work on memorization passages at home, our leaders help them understand what they are memorizing and how it applies to their lives. We love this program because it helps our children know what they believe and why they believe it!
Nursing Home Ministry
Each December we visit local nursing homes to encourage residents and sing Christmas carols.
